Headquarters marks anti-drug effort

LATHAM-New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Erich Schmidt, the New York National Guard Family Programs Operations NCO marks Red Ribbon week on October 27, 2020. During the week of October 23-31 people and groups opposed to drug use display red ribbons to show a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle. Each ribbon marks a show of support for those struggling with drug addiction.
The tradition started following the murder of Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Kiki Camarena in 1985 by Mexican drug traffickers.
