NY Army Guard Leaders honor WW II Vets on D-Day

MONTROSE--New York Army National Guard Col. Isabel Smith, Chief of Staff of the 53rd Troop Command, greets a World War II veteran at the New York State Veterans Home on Montrose, N.Y. on June 6, 2019, during an event organized by New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to recognize veterans. Smith was one of five National Guard senior leaders who visited the five state veterans home to present New York State Medals to service members who served on D-Day or in the European Campaign.
