USS Schenectady Bell Comes Home to New York

STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Scotia-- Members of the Navy Reserve welcome the ship’s bell of the USS Schenectady here on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The bell,which has been in storage since the landing ship tank was decommissioned in 1993, will be displayed on the "quarterdeck" of the United States Navy Operational Support Center in the Glenville Armed Forces Reserve Center. The bell was flown from the storage site to the Capital Region on a C-130 assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing.
