Rosters of the New York Engineers and sharpshooter Batallions during the Civil War

These rosters were compiled by the New York State Adjutant General Office. They wer published as a set of 43 volumes between 1893 and 1905. Their official titles are Annual Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of New York for the Year ... : Registers of the [units numbers]. These should not be confused with the regular reports put out by the New York Adjutant General during the same period.

These are all Adobe Acrobat files and they can be very large. The largest is 80 MB. These have been 'read' so they can be searched using the Acrobat Search funtion. However, they have not been checked for spelling so there are many mis-spellings. you cannot see these mis-spellings because the text is under the page image so please be aware that just because you have searched for a word using the Acrobat search function, this will not take the place of reading.
