ROCHESTER-- New York Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Daniel Markle, and Staff Sgt. Kyle King, both from Company A , 2nd Battalion 108th Infantry exchange places while posting a guard of honor on the casket of Rochester Police officer, and former 2nd Battalion 108th Infantry member, Daryl Pierson on Sept. 9, 2014. Pierson served in the Army for eight years. He left the New York Army National Guard in November 2007. Pierson was the first Rochester Police officer killed in the line-of-duty since 1959.
