New York Guard member receives valor medal

CAMP SMITH- New York Guard Col. Martin Ingram is congratulated on Saturday, March 154 after receiving New York State's highest military award, the Medal of Valor, from New York Guard Commander Brig. Gen. Stephen Bucaria. Ingram received the award in recognition of his heroic actions as the fire chief of the Point Breeze Volunteer Fire Department during Hurricane Sandy.The New York Guard is the state's volunteer defense and emergency response force.
