FORT DRUM-- Leaders of the 174th Fighter Wing and the New York National Guard cut the ribbon officially opening the new $5.1 million Launch and Recovery Hangar housing two MQ-9 aircraft at Wheeler Sack Army Airfield on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Pictured (from left) are: New York Air National Guard Command Chief Master Sgt. Richard King;174th Attack Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Johhn Youngs; 174th Attack Wing Commander Col. Greg Semmel, Assemblyman Kevin Blankenbush; Major General (retired) Mike Hall, former 174th Fighter Wing Commander and former Adjutant General of New York; and Brig. Gen. Anthony German, Chief of Staff for the New York Air National Guard.
The launch and recovery facility will house two MQ-9 aircraft and provide a permanent base for 174th Attack Wing operations at Fort Drum
