WINDSOR, NY--Spc. John Stanley from Elmira Heights, prepares lunch as the food service section from the 204th Engineer Battalion’s 204th Forward Support Company competes for the Philip A. Connelly Award of Excellence in Army Food Service award on Sunday June 13.
The cooks prepared a lunch at the 204th’s training site in the Windsor Quarry for Soldiers working there as part of their annual training.
The food service specialists were evaluated on aspects such as technique, skill, safety consciousness, professionalism, and presentation of product.
The menu included roast turkey, gravy, Mexican corn, corn soup, salad, and Florida lemon cake with a cream cheese frosting.
The winners of the award, which involves units from across the Army, will be announced in January 2011.
