Groundbreaking at 106th Rescue Wing

GABRESKI AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Westhampton Beach-- Local officials gathered Saturday, May 2 along with members of the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing to break ground for a new $14.56 million facility to house the wing's pararescue jumpers.

Canders of the 106th Rescue Wing; Representative Timothy Bishop; New York State Assemblyman Fred Thiele; Major John D. McElroy of the 103rd Rescue Squadron; and Supervisor for Racanelli Construction Keith Wood turn the first ceremonial ground.on May 2, 2009.
