Army Guard Family Farewell for Iraq Bound Soldiers

New York Army National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. Randy Ross hugs his wife before getting on a bus for his mobilization station at Fort Dix, N.J. as his unit prepares for a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq. Some two dozen members of the 53rd Army Forces Liaison Detachment departed from the Park Avenue Armory in New York City Feb. 21. The unit will deploy to Iraq to train and mentor the Iraqi Army.
